After spending a year in Haiti, I am now home in Iowa- yes, it was a good year. Now for those of you who followed me on the "Nate in Haiti" blog, you can now enjoy (or, suffer through, if you like) reading about my life here in the States. God is good... :)

Life is great, because God is!
Good evening, dear friends!
Life continues, and God's mercy and goodness does, too! Probably the highlight of this last week was my little brother Josh (along with a few others) getting baptized!
Again, God is very good to us. We don't deserve the blessings he showers us with every day, yet He continues to send them down!
Praise the Lord...
Have a blessed evening, everyone!

A wonderful day... so exciting to see little brother walking after Jesus :D :D
In other news... Work is still happening at the mini-barn shop...
Due, in part, to the amazing amounts of soda-pop being consumed by (ahem) certain workers.
When the days get long and wearisome, a bit of entertainment helps lighten the load.
This stack got to almost 8' before it tumbled down! :)
I had to finish this shed today, because the customer was demanding it be delivered on Tuesday...
I think I broke a rib on Friday (a trip, a tangle with an air hose, and landing atop a floor joist is all it takes) and was feeling the resulting, intense pain in the morning.
On lunch break (above) I was feeling pretty miserable.
So I trooped over to "K" Mart and found a back-support thinggy.
It worked wonders and I was able to work again.
Here's the finished product!

From out of the shadows and mists...
I emerge again!
As you could guess, my excuse for not writing anything on here for... a loooOOOONG time is: work :)
So, I'll post some pictures of that... since it's been consuming so much of my time :-/
Following are random pictures of barns I've worked on in the recent months.

Another point on interest:
My brother Josh was born again a few weeks ago and is being baptized next weekend! We're all pretty excited about that :D
God bless you all! I'm planning on doing regular updates on the blog here again, so stop by some other time!

I'm Back...
At long last, I revisit my personal blog. Many of you haven't been on here for so long... That's ok. I understand. If there's nothing new, what's the point of visiting a blog over and over again?? But here I sit, having just arrived back from a 7 month-long trip to Haiti. What began as a 3 month-long visit to help with the SALT program found me staying another 4 months, helping tear down a church building, helping administrate the mission and work with clinic stuff... not single-handedly, mind you- we had one of the greatest teams of people down there that all pitched in and made the whole time a bearable experience. You all have hear about Steve's heart problems, which started the whole thing, and also of one of our nurses' near-death experience with an allergic reaction of some sort- these last 2 months were the most stretching 2 months of my life... But God was good through the whole thing. So, now I am back home, having left my Haitian duties behind in the capable hands of the team there, and am adjusting back to life in the States. Where to go from here? What to do? How can I integrate myself into life here again?
Lots of questions, and so few ready answers- But my Father planned it all, as the song says :)
Stay tuned for my life's happenings, some thoughts and musings, and of course...
Pictures... lots of blurry, fuzzy pictures taken by my phone's defective and damaged camera :D
God's blessings to you all!
